Mines are 1.6.3 and 2.5.3. I don't get this warning, I had to add 
celestia_DEPENDENCIES = kde/libkdegui.a in src/celestia/Makefile.am
because otherwise this dependency wasn't satisfied.

May be you can try commenting out that line and see if after a touch 
src/celestia/kde/libkdegui.a celestia is rebuild.

By the way on my system the other .a dependencies are not satisfied either, if 
celengine/libcelengine.a is modified I have to manualy do a rm 
src/celestia/celestia to get it rebuild.
