i compiled cdrdao under os x and would like to know if paranoia is built in the cdrdao binary. the install command only installed cdrdao, drivers, man etc but i found nothing in the /usr/local/lib folder containing paranoia so i ask if this is correct.

Yes, paranoia is linked directly into cdrdao, it's not installed as a library or a seperate executable.
