Hi Andreas. I had similar issues when writing longer scores. There is a slight speedup (maybe around 10%) by disabling the Anti aliasing in Preferences->Editor settings. The speed issue originates in slow rendering speed (calling draw() method on 10.000 elements). We're planning to eliminate this by rewriting our rendering engine and using QGraphicsWidget instead of our own engine. Unfortunately this widget was introduced in Qt version 4.3 which was released over a year after we designed Canorus. I plan to do this for the next release.
