Hi, Currently I only know of one tool being able to work on Qt ts (translation) files: That is the linguist. As our build system takes care of creating the translation files you don't have to manually use the tools the create them. Be aware though that every time you "make" the project the files will be updated. This can mean that you find obsolete entries in the file and new to be translated parts in the file when you update from SVN. In search for alternatives tools especially because handling of phrase files for translations are extremely problematic (the dialog for editing phrases blocks the entire application :-( ) I found a web tool: http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/pootle/index I leave it up to Matevz if we should add such a translation "service" to the Canorus Wiki / Homepage. The translate project itself provides tools for converting the ts files to po. See http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/index for more informations. This will certainly be helpful for all those NoteEdit translation files where you can fetch some of the music terms needed in Canorus too in an easier manner. Though I'd like to avoid ts -> xliff -> edit -> xliff -> ts route, I won't object if the tools work fine with qt 4.3 (after all qt does include their dtd for the ts files, so using translate-tools should work, we just need to make a tutorial or find one on the web). It would also be possible to create po files instead of xliff files. The tool kbabel would probably be the best replacement (it has even experimental code for xliff format ). Maybe they will also support ts/qph format somewhen in the future. The other tools I looked up for xliff are not bad but very generic and require a translation memory server or directory (something similar to qph phrase book). As kbabel also supports po files this could help you with the old noteedit translation files too. I haven't made any further research into that topic though.
