Support Requests item #425601, was updated on 2001-05-20 03:00 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=203248&aid=425601&group_id=3248 Category: None Group: None Status: Open >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Submitted By: Julie Deiser (emberglow) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) >Summary: "Locate Servers" feature broken? Initial Comment: I'm a former SGI employee and total BZFlag addict. So it surprised me when I upgraded to 1.7e2 (via apt-get from the Debian unstable tree) and could no longer use the "locate servers" feature. When I do, I get the error "Couldn't open list server http://groundhog.pair.com/bzflag/list-server.txt" I have verified that the URL is indeed broken and it's not some network problem on this end. In the meantime, it'd be great if someone would post some alternate URLs on the bzflag.org site. I thought I could just plug one into the -list option, but after nearly an hour of searching the site I can't find a single alternate URL. Help?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Tim Riker (timriker) Date: 2001-05-20 08:40 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=8134 Use: bzflag -list default to set your listserver url to the new value. The old url is now invalid as the old site is down. Use: bzflag -list bzflist://209.140.76.229 to use the list server directly without any dns or web lookup first. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Frank Thilo (chestal) Date: 2001-05-20 06:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48940 I wonder why your client tries to connect to the URL you mentioned. The default URL to connect to is http://BZFlag.SourceForge.net/list-server.txt Look in your config file (~/.bzflag.<hostname>) for a 'list' entry and modify or delete it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=203248&aid=425601&group_id=3248 |
