Support Requests item #417874, was updated on 2001-04-21 11:13 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=203248&aid=417874&group_id=3248 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Will Moultray (lemmingz) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: can't connect using list server w/linux Initial Comment: OS is Red Hat 7 on a 200mhz pentium. Graphics device is a nvidia geforce 2mx with nvidia drivers 0.9-769. Game version is e2. For about the last month I haven't been able to connect using the list server. All I get is a "can't open list" error. If I point the list server to "bzflist://209.140.76.229/" I can open the list but I can't connect. I then get a "get host address timeout" error. any second attempt to connect will lock up the game. I can connect to a game by entering the ip number directly (ie 209.140.76.229) then I can play on that one server. if I type in the server name (ie Rikers.org) I get a "get host address timeout" error, or the game will lock up and I have to kill the Xserver. This occours on versions e1, e2 and the unofficial fx3, but abuot a month ago I had no problem connecting with these versions. With version d-9 I can't find the server list, but if I enter a server name (not the ip number) the game can connect, It appears that the newer list servers only work once during a game session. I don't have any of these problems with my windows computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: luis cypher (luiscypher) Date: 2001-05-10 09:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=175321 try removing your "/home/user/.bzflag" file, so that the default settings are generated. this will take care of that problem. Running: bzflag -list default should get you to the new URL. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=203248&aid=417874&group_id=3248 |
