Category: BZFlag Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Thomas Stauer (t-s) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: BZFlag client can get stuck when using spin on group Initial Comment: Some clients like mine (2.0.5.20051028-DEVEL-darwin8.2.0-SDL) get stuck on certain occasions where others don't. Note that I am not refering to the usual cutting edge problems, rather a bug that have been in older "STABLE"-tagged versions, too. The provided sample map will make my client stuck without displaying "sealed". Jumping doesn't work, I can't even hear the jumping sound on that box in the sample map. Observers have described me being jittering vertically what I have been able to see at another player both as observer and as player being near their position. Not all players are affected by this bug, the majority of players are not getting stuck on the sample map. I have run the sample map and connected with the client version listed above with parameters -d -d -d -d and got pasted the output to http://bzflag.pastebin.ca/27174 in case it helps. Note that replacing "spin -90 0 0 1" with "spin 270 0 0 1" fixes the problem for me and I was stuck when trying to pause and was unable to move between both tries. With WG the behaviour changes a little bit in a way I am unable to describe exactly but you can move with that flag when being on the box. My impression is that the tank never really hits the box but does much low jumps before touching it and get stuck this way as you can't move in the air without WG. I am using Mac OS X version 10.4.2 and I have seen one linux player with SDL that got stuck, too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=103248&aid=1344274&group_id=3248 |
