Is GM really set to be non-lethal until it is a certain minimum distance from the shooter? If that's what was actually happening, it was allowing people with Wings (an already arguably too powerful flag when it has no flap limits) to just drop right in front of me with impunity. This makes Wings effectively invulnerable against GM's as long as you don't get killed during the initial ascent. There's no logical reason for this as I see it. I don't know how good it is but it seems to be only way without changing lots of GM code.
