A large percentage of the time I die is right after a respawn (on a busy server anyways) where I get killed before I have a chance to run away/fight back/crap my pants.<br>
<br>
I was thinking it would be good to allow a few seconds of no-shoot/no-die activity to get to a slightly safe location. If you wanted to, you could even make the respawned player colorblind for a few seconds and make them appear in some neutral color (or striped) to keep people from stalking them untill theyre killable (and visa-versa).<br>

Its just not fun to die 2 seconds after respawning (esp 6 times in a row)<br>
<br>
(I still love the game though :-))

When I started playing bz this was one of my first thoughts, too.However, today I don't think this would be a good idea as it gives the respawned tank an unfair advantage IMHO. That is because the respawned tank is invulnerable for a few seconds and can get a good position furing this time. Although you cannot shoot during this time, you still get an advantage because 1) you'll know more exactly when the grace period is over than your enemies and 2) your enemy might have to evade bullets from other tanks durign that time and cannot position itself as undistrubed as you can.
The game has always tried to put you into a safe spot. With current CVS code, the game tries harder by using a bigger minimum distance to enemy tanks and more tries.

Can I add this to the list of ideas on my ideas page <http://www.bzflag.org/wiki/view.php?topic=IdeaS&web=Main>
