Hi Daniel,

I've noticed for quite some time that when you stream into an Icecast server (Icecast 2.4.0 KHxx and 2.4.4 Xiph) using SSL, and then disconnect, the source isn't released on the server and either kicking the source or restarting the server is necessary to free up the slot.

I'd been meaning to report it for a while. Have you come acorss this issue? Note that the server(s) in question do have an SSL cert (full chain and private key) and BUTT asked me to TRUST it all the same, and thus clients are 100% able to stream over HTTPS.

Best,
Dave

    Hello Dave,

this is a known issue with Icecast 2.4.4. It should work with the newer -kh versions, though. Also Icecast 2.5betaX has a fix for that.

    Best,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the confirmation. I had tried it on Icecast 2.4.0 KH15 in the past but most recently it's only been on 2.4.4 Xiph. Not a big deal - streaming over HTTP has never been a major issue so long as - if you're using 2.4.4 Xiph - you have a second non-SSL socket configured. Just noting that for anyone else stumbling onto this thread.

    Best,
    Dave
