Hi,

I tried to run BUTT under Windows Server 2019 on Virtual Private Server, but it shows just a blank window ("not responding") and then closes after a while (see screenshot).

Is there any way to run BUTT under Windows Server?

Hello, when you connect to the remote server please make sure audio is not routed through the remote session. Please follow these steps:

    1. Start Remote Desktop Connection app
    2. Click on "Show Options"
    3. Open the Tab "Local Resources"
    4. In Remote Audio click on Settings
    5. Now activate "Play on remote Computer"
    6. Click on OK and connect to the server
    7. Run butt

    Best,
    Daniel

    Thanks for your answer, Daniel.

I made sure that audio is not routed by remote session, so that wasn't a part of problem. But your suggestion inspired me to check if I have properly working audio input on server and it turned out that not. Audio driver of virtual souncard wasn't installed correctly and Windows didn't see any audio input at all, apparently causing a crash. Reinstallation solved the problem. Butt is working now.

    Thanks for help!

I am glad it is working now. Next butt version contains a fix for the crash if no audio inputs are found.

      Best,
      Daniel
