Hey Daniel,

I'm a longtime Icecast / BUTT user :-) and it never failed me untill now...

I've upgraded my Icecast server (2.4.99.2) since i wanted to use SSL certificates. So I followed this howto to accomplish that: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/11436-solved-icecast2-and-ssl/?tab=comments#comment-85528

Which worked out great and this situation is up and running and acting totally normal. Except for connecting BUTT to it which gives me time outs when i want to connect to the Icecast servers. A friend of mine also use of the same Icecast server can connect using Radio Boss and has no issues.

I was using BUTT 0.1.18 so i figured that could be the issue so i upgraded to 0.1.19 but the issue remains.

I have attached some screenshots (butt_gui.png, error_log.png, access.log) which make clear that BUTT does connect and tries to stream but disconnects for unknow reason.

I have port 8000 and 8443 in use connect on IP.
I have tried all the obvious solutions but i can't get it to work.
Like said my buddy is streaming to the same ip on port 8000 and has no issues whatsoever,

Do you got any idea what's going on?

In addition; my buddy installed BUTT 0.1.19 as well yesterday to rule out my own systems and is experiencing the exact same issue.

Hello Frans,

I followed the instructions you linked above to set up an icecast server with SSL support (latest version from git (version 2.4.99.2, commit de3a075)).
The configuration configures two ports 8000 without SSL and port 8443 with SSL.

I was able to successfully connect to the non-SSL port 8000. The SSL port 8443 won't work because butt does not support SSL yet.

So, if you didn't change port 8000 to support SSL in the configuration, it should work. At least I can't reproduce your issue. Sorry.

  Thank you for your time and reply. For now i've installed Shoutcast besides Icecast and implemented SSL as well by stunnel4. Which works fine with BUTT on the same server. I still can't figure out why Icecast is such a pain right now.

Any suggestions as to where to look?

We have a similar issue with 0.1.19 on Win 10 pro version 9109. two identical pcs one connects to our icecast server with out issue and the other did connect but now displays the same issues described above. I can still connect to the icecast server using VLC and MIXXX on the same pc and indeed the mount appears on the server when BUTT tries to connect so icecast is accepting the connection but BUTT seems to time out waiting for the reply. I have increased the timout setting on icecast and have tried differant credentials on the server with no luck.
I am quite happy to run any tests if you need try and pinpoint something.
