That was the other link we had on our initial web page listing this topic
:-).  I agree it sounds quite promising.  It doesn't have pre-baked Tcl/Tk
bindings, but it may be better maintained as a component used by Graphviz -
definitely something to look at.

OGDF is GPL, and therefore out for license compatibility reasons - since
their webpage mentions specifically that you can't link OGDF to commercial
code with the GPL and suggests contacting them to ask about commercial
licensing, I doubt they'd consider re-licensing.
