Category: Compilation & Installation Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: David Bentley (davidbentley) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Error when trying to specify install path Initial Comment: I would like to install the latest version to utilize the step-g tool. I would like to avoid overwriting my current install of 7.12. When I attempt to use: ./configure --prefix=/some/path/other/than/7.12 I get an error that BRLCAD_ROOT is in conflict with the prefix. My questions are: 1. What is the workaround for this error to be able to install in an alternate location? 2. Is it possible to simply compile the step-g tool wihtout installing the full package? If so, how do I do that?
