Category: Geometry Conversion Group: crash or data loss Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Wim Bokkers (bokkers) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: iges-g crash Initial Comment: On using the -n option (as suggested by iges-g), iges-g will crash during conversion (the initial phase, detecting all objects, succeeds) On using the -t option, iges-g also crashes, but this time an error message appears, saying that a curve was not closed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Sean Morrison (brlcad) Date: 2009-06-08 12:39 Message: This is unfortunate but not unexpected. There are a variety of generalized spline-surface imports that can be represented with IGES that our iges-g cannot understand (particularly when they're not solid geometry). Work is underway now on a new step-g importer that will be a recommended path through STEP instead of via IGES import. As that converter comes on-line, we can then focus on updating older tools (including iges-g) to use the new NURBS boundary representation primitive that is in development now (and nearing completion). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=640802&aid=2802789&group_id=105292 |
