Bugs item #1196157, was opened at 2005-05-05 15:57 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by lbutler You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=640802&aid=1196157&group_id=105292 Category: Analysis Group: other bug / workaround >Status: Closed >Resolution: Duplicate Priority: 5 Submitted By: Lee Butler (lbutler) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: rtcheck/g_lint duplication Initial Comment: The tools rtcheck and g_lint have similar functionalities. The rtcheck program functionality is mostly in g_lint. The only thing missing seems (at first glance) to be the -M option that MGED uses to pass view information to "rt" programs. If this could be added to g_lint, we could have one (better, easier to maintain) code for doing overlap checking and a host of other functions. Since SAB is in the midst of formalizing a process for vetting geometry, this would be an opportune time to condense this work together. g_lint should be enhanced so that it can produce both the ascii and plot variants of output at the same time. Ugh. Make that: change the man page so it makes sense. It acutally still reports the overlaps in ascii still, but the plot file goes to stdout. We should update MGED to call g_lint with the right flags instead of rtcheck when the user give the "rtcheck" command. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=640802&aid=1196157&group_id=105292 |
