Any chance of getting the Pro-Engineer converter ported to windows? Especially since the PTC folks have dropped RedHat Linux from their list of supported systems in the WildFire 4.0 release.

      Keith,

The Pro/E converter has now been updated/compiled for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit), but someone(tm) will have to hound^Wask Bob to make sure it is packaged up in the next full binary release.

On a related note, just this week Bob also added some enhancements that make conversions a lot easier.  There are logging options to report only successes, only failures, successes+failures, or full debug output.  More usefully, there are now also upper-bound tolerance options where the converter will use those bounds and adaptively tessellate to a more refined mesh if a coarser tessellation fails.  This makes it easier (and automatic) to get a complete export that might otherwise have components that fail at a given fixed tolerance.

We should also have Solaris (x86 and sparc, 32-bit and 64-bit) builds out within a couple months as well that include the Pro/E converter.  Since those are fully supported by WildFire 4.0, we'll be revitalizing some of our Solaris support across the board as well with full release updates.

      Cheers!
      Sean
