Hi Oliver, thank you for the report. Are you installing BRL-CAD as an administrator? Is there already an installation of BRL-CAD in C:\Program Files\BRL-CAD ?
The error looks like it's possibly a permissions issue as 3dm-g would simply be the first of many applications that it's trying to install.
It's also possible that antivirus or some other security monitor is preventing new applications from being installed.
