This problem is fixed in r36464. Saving to a file named 'keep' was just lucky behavior. The problem was a bit more insidious in that the result was dependent upon previous actions taken, which could cause the keep command to use keep, some other file name, or even crash. The change snuck in and should be part of release 7.16.2
