I have used Briss to crop large borders of text from old ebooks that contain page numbers and other unwanted text on the periphery of each page. However, when I take my newly cropped pdf and try to convert it to a new format the text is still there! Even when I take the page that I have cropped and highlight over the area that was cropped, it still highlights the area as if there is still text there. Is there a way to crop this text out completely?

I'm sorry but Briss can't "hard"crop a pdf. So it is always just a readjustment of the viewable rectangle.

Try "printing" the cropped file to a new pdf using a pdf virtual printer such as PDF creator.
