Boot Info Script 0.61 is released:

• Add README file.
• Add --update switch to make it easier to download the last development
  version.
• Also detect grub2 files when they are located in /grub2 or /boot/grub2.
• Make sure that BIS is run with bash as shell interpreter.
• Added --stdout switch: write results to standard output instead of a file.
• "boot_info_script.sh" file renamed to "bootinfoscript".
• List EFI boot files.
• Fix displaying of config file string for some grub2 (v1.99) binaries.
• New GUIDs added: - new GUID for Linux basic data partition
  - Chrome OS partitions
• Check for root rights before checking the list of all needed programs, so
  it works also correctly on systems where not all programs are in the $PATH
  variable of a normal user.
• Detect if xz or lzma is available on the system (replaces unlzma command).

Version 0.55 of the Boot Info Script was released
Added the output of "blkid [hard_drive]" for all detected hard drives.

Uses "sfdisk -s", if available, to avoid a problem caused by "fdisk -s" malfunctioning in some cases.

No longer displays the physical location of boot files on ntfs/fat partitions (since the numbers computed by the current method are wrong)

Changes:
If dmraid is installed, the script can search all hard disks managed by dmraid.
Boot files in mounted partitions are no longer displayed twice.
The code was changed, so that the script does not enter an infinite loop when accidentally run via "sh boot_info_script050.sh"

Fixed a bug which caused the blkid information of a partition to be displayed twice in some situations.

The script no longer displays the boot files on vfat file systems twice.

Version 0.46 of the boot info script was released.

Change: A stand error message, which was inadvertently displayed in RESULTS.txt, was redirected.

Version 0,45 of the boot info script was released.

Changes:

1. The scripts now checks whether all required programs are installed.

2. Fixed a bug which prevents the boot information to be displayed if non MS-Dos partition table is present, but not in use.

3. Fixed a bug which caused the size of md-raid partitions to be computed in blocks rather than sectors.

4. Results.txt now displays a warning if an extended partition links to another extended partitions. (In such a case, gparted will show the whole hard drive as unallocated and fdisk gives an "omitted empty partition" warning)

Version 0.44 of the boot info script has been released.

The script is now able to search Linux Software Raid partitions (as long as the "mdadm" package is installed).

In addition, a couple of minor bucks were fixed.

Version 0.43 of the boot_info_script has been released

Parts of the code were changed to avoid potential problems:

1) devices are mounted read only

2) Existing mount point are used as much as possible.

In addition, a misprint which prevented the Media Dell partition to be detected, was fixed.

Version 0.42 of the boot info script was released.

Changes:

1) The script detects Bios Boot Partitions.

2) Due to changes in Wubi 9.10 caused by Grub 2, some of the boot files were not detected by earlier versions of the script.

3) The script is now able to search LVM partitions (as long as the "lvm2" package is installed).

Version 0.41 of the boot info script has been released. A bug, which in rare cases caused a wrong target partition for Grub2 to be displayed,was fixed.

Version 0.40 of the boot info script has been released. The information, for the case that Grub2 is installed without embedded core.img, was improved.

The script is now able to distinguish between Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Boot info script 0.37 was released.

A bug, which caused the script to hang if Grub 1.97 was installed in the MBR without core.img, was fixed.

Previous versions of the boot info script did not handle Grub1.97 correctly when it was installed without embedded core. Release 0.36 fixes this problem.

ghulselmans has joint the boot info script project and made the following changes to the boot info script:

1. Fixed the problem which occurred when the boot info script was run from a folder with a space in its path.

2, added code to set the path for RESULTS.TXT to the home directory of the user, when run from system paths.

Support for Grub2 (version 1.97) has been added.
