Since SyncIt's hardware crashed, and they generously donated the code to the world, a few have steped up to the plate and are providing the service. I love the service provided from www.sync2it.com - Greg boo...@li... wrote: 1. Is bookmarksink.com dead? (Graeme Ludwig) 2. RE: Is bookmarksink.com dead? Hi, When SyncIT bit the dust I installed the client from bookmarksink.com on my work computer which worked OK. Now, several months later, I finally got around to installing the client on my home PC. Downloaded the client again, only this time when I try to install and download the server bookmarks the client connects, but then comes back with the error: The SyncIT service cannot connect to post.syncit.com. Can't remember exactly how the insall went on my work PC, and the work PC client gives no hint of the URL to target my home client at. Can anyone help, or is bookmarksink no longer running? Thanks, Graeme Ludwig. --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Brian Huff" To: "'Graeme Ludwig'" , Subject: RE: [BMSYNC-USERS] Is bookmarksink.com dead? Date: Sat, 10 Jul 2004 17:10:46 -0500 If you run Regedit from Start|Run, you can find the URL and all other settings under the following Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software SyncIT There are two settings there, Root and file3 Root will something like http://www.yourdomain.com/ File3 will be something like /syncit/client.php Sometimes, on some of the older client installs, the file3 key is not put in, this caused problems, so you might have to create a New "String Value" and enter those settings in. Hope that helps Graeme. Brian www.freetec.com -----Original Message----- From: boo...@li... [mailto:boo...@li...] On Behalf Of Graeme Ludwig Sent: Saturday, July 10, 2004 4:15 PM To: boo...@li...
