I disagree - I think those README instructions are crap, personally, and
I've assigned myself a tracker item to revise them. However, I won't find
time to do so, literally, for months. Note that there has been some talk on
the -dev list about having a simplistic web-based installer that would
handle a good deal of the setup, and provide a more friendlier interface,
but that has yet to be worked on.
