Board Desktop Command Line Edition canned.

Due to other projects and a overall lack of time, I have scrapped plans on the command line edition.

If you still want command line goodness, I recommend cowweb's IPB Command Line Administration Tool (http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/3094). Intergration with the script will be in Board Desktop 0.2.

As for a Linux version, as stated before, the PHP-GTK idea isn't working out. However, these past few days in Mandrake and screwing around overall with QT Designer (or whatever you call it), I have determined that it works almost exactly like Visual BCX. This in mind, a Linux port becomes more and more possible by the day.

0.2 and GTK.

Since it will be a good week or three until I get my new PC up and running, I will slowly continue work on 0.2 when I have time.

News is that I'm slowly working on a version that will work in PHP-GTK. Progress isn't going so great with a 0.1 port, however.

Also, it has come to my attention that Board Desktop 0.1 will not connect to certian hosts (like digibase) while being able to connect with others (like anyxhost). Except the problems to be addressed in 0.2 and if there's nothing that can be done, then I will make a list of hosts that will work with the software.

Version 0.2 Delayed and possible Linux port

Due to worsening computer problems, I am forced to halt development of 0.2 for the moment. When I get situated with my new computer (in about a month or so), then I will continue development.

Also, I noticed a little something called PHP-GTK. Maybe this could be of use to make a Linux port of Board Desktop. I also thought about making a port for Contiki, but then I realized that not many people are going to be managing forums from a Apple IIe, a Commodore 64, or a Game Boy.

Version skip.

Due to a serious problem with how BCX downloads files, we will be forced to skip from 0.1 RC to 0.2 Alpha. 0.2 Alpha will be about 95% C and 5% BCX code.

Main changes to be:
- Sockets will be used to retrieve the data and thus, no temporary files will be needed
- Authorization will be an option. How this will work is that at configuration time of the "bd.php" file, a variable giving the option to require authorization plus a variable to give the password will be there. The user would put this data in the revamped configuration screen.
- Auto-Update. This will not only check for updates on command, it can even download and execute the installer for you
- New installer. 0.2 will be using the NSIS installer system instead of the SetupSteam installer.
