On my work computer, a 733 MHz P-something w/256 Meg. memory, attempts to load either the python helpfile or the wx helpfile cause Boa 0.4.0 pre to hang. I've waited 2-5 minutes (who's counting) before terminating the app. The last line of the trace is: C:\Python23\Lib\site-packages\wx-2.5.3-msw-ansi\wx\html.py|1647|29473200|call| Apparently it doesn't return from the call. The CVS and Boa helpfiles load properly and fairly quickly. I'm using the python and wx help files distributed with Boa 0.3.0 I don't see the problem on my home machine, Athlon64 w/1 gig., either with Linux or WinXP. I also don't see the problem with Boa 0.3.1 on the work computer. Should I report this on the bug tracker? It's not clear to me whether you're using the Sourceforge trackers or this list as the primary vehicle for bug reports and feature requests. Also, I'm impatient to have a proper and current set of help files, so I'm going to build them myself. I want to learn about .chm files as well. I'll be glad to contribute what I build if you want. Just let me know where to send them. Bill |
