What I need to do is plot bar charts with error bars and scatter plots with means. Neither of these functions are fully supported by either of these programs as far as I can see. gnuplot is okay but still not that flexible. For instance the problem with having bars filled in a particular colour or texture is not supported. As I mentioned, RLPlot seems to do what I want, pretty much, although it insists on having a box drawn around every graph which is a bit annoying, also it requires hand-editing of the finished graph to add labels or markers to represent the mean in scatter plots. It is annoying but it is easier to do these things in MS Excel, let alone SigmaPlot... while in Linux I have to bash away for ages to get a half decent image. James |
