Looking again, this could be a "feature" of win32 wxWindows. I'm not sure because the feature does make slow programs behave better. The real problem, however, is the speed of Scintilla. I compiled the latest wxWindows and wxPython from CVS. (It took me forever to figure out that the primary repository for wxPython is available through wxwindows.org, even though there is no mention of it!) We are indeed up to Scintilla 1.32 now, but as a result wxStyledTextCtrl now has a significantly different interface that's not currently backward compatible. I wonder what Robin's plan is? Anyway, patches are coming soon. Shane |
