Hi again! Just for the archive: I found out that plone causes this behavior. Surprisingly (for me): everything works fine if boa creates the zoa folder -before- plone is installed. Am Mittwoch, 29. Hi! I use boa from cvs and zope 2.9.4-final. When I start a new zope connection boa asks me if I want to install the zoa object in the root of my zope tree. After confirmation zope tells me "The id "items" is invalid - it is already in use.". I even can't add an object with id "items" anywhere in zope using the zmi. I tried this on several zope instances even on different workstations but without success. Please can anymone give me a hint how to solve this problem? Thank you very much. Jon |

The problem is that not all controls trigger mouse over and mouse click events, for controls that do not trigger these events Boa simply cannot move or size them via the Designer. Cheers, Riaan. |

Adding controls to the palette is not that simple (although examples are provided, Plug-ins/UserCompanions.plug-in.py) The simplest way to handle adding controls not directly supported by Boa, is to put a wx.Panel in the place of the control that you want to use, and then create your control in that panel after the call to self._init_ctrls() in the __init__method of your frame. Cheers, Riaan. |

Hi All, I've decided to use Boa Constructor this evening and while it looks quite good i'm finding a few thing a tad challnging. I'm currently using: ubuntu dapper 6.06 python 2.4.3 boaconstructor 4.4 wxPython 2.6.1.2pre "Once the component is on the form, it can be moved and resized. You move it by placing the mouse within the component and dragging it. You resize it by dragging one of the eight markers shown on the edge of a selected control." i've found that while components can be resized on the form as per the instructions it is not possible to use the mouse to drag them to a new position. I have found a partial solution in using the Inspector to edit the Position attributes of a component (using the spinner controls is quite handy). Is this some bug that is unique to my system (I tried searching this list's archives and could find any discussion on this issue). Many thanks in advance, Gary Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com |

Hi, I find Boa has Preferences dir in $HOME/.boa-constructor, there have a old-version's stc-styles.rc.cfg file, and it still used wxSTC_STYLE_DEFAULT. I just del the file and the problem is gone. I assume you talk about wx.ColourPickerCtrl and not wx.ColourDialog? The wx.ColourPickerCtrl is not available in Boa, at least not until someone does the necessary work. You could provide a patch to the appropriate companion and/or write a plug-in (have a look at e.g. PyPlot-plugin.py). If you want to use the later then you can insert the necassary code after "def __init__(self, parent):" by pressing Alt-t and select the appropiate dialog. Hi, Could you help me with a problem. I'm writing an application in boa and I need to have a colour picker. How do I add it to the "Palette"? I'm using boa from CVS and wxpython 2.7. If I add it directly in the code then the boa Designer gives me errors. I'd like to insert it without problem in the Designer window using the palette. How can I do it? Thank You, Riccardo |
