Suppressing the error is not a good idea, characters such as "üö" etc might not get represented correctly. There is a thread on wxPython list (wxP...@li...) about this and possible solutions. "Failed to display HTML document in ISO-8859-1 encoding" You might also check through the archive of that list about html. There is lots of talk about a new html widget based on WebKit. Werner |

I installed the latest python package and the latest wxpython package without error. I installed Boa Contructor without error. I built a small application and tried to run it. New texts click the check-box for i18n - it would be nice if this could be ticked by default (Riaan, are you listening :)) > > Don't suppose someone has a method for getting boa to use the project > file to make the app.fil for mki18n.py? I use poEdit (http://www.poedit.net/ ) which generates the .po files (if you use the Catalogs Manager, it does it for all languages) and it is a nice editor for the people to do the translations. Hi, I am about to attempt to add languages to an existing application developed with Boa 0.61. Can any one give some simple tips on the best approach using Boa? I have only started reading about how to do this for wx applications today... and at the end of my reading and looking at the boa I18n example my question probably is, Do I really have to edit all the text adding _('') by hand? Or is there a box somewhere I can tick and all my text will be converted.... hopefully there is - and the rest I will get sorted. Don't suppose someone has a method for getting boa to use the project file to make the app.fil for mki18n.py? Or better yet has an automated way of running the gettext tools that are needed. thanks timb |

Gianfranco, Was this string "Il tipo non e :" always like this or did was it like: this "Il tipo non é :" or something similar? When I use é or similar in the source code I do get encoding errors similar to the original one you reported. If you want non ascii chars in your source code then you need to add: # -*- coding: iso-8859-1 -*-# or similar as the first line of every file. I changed the attached file which is in ...\site-packages\boa\Plug-ins to include that line and then I just click the second to last tool bar button on the editor. Werner |

Gianfranco, This line in app1.py is strange: 'Frame1': [1, 'Main frame of Application', 'none://Frame1.py']} It should be: 'Frame1': [1, 'Main frame of Application', 'Frame1.py']} Any idea why it had "none://"? Werner |
