I compiled off a clean from CVS version a few days ago, on a clean R5, with the net_server build of cryptlib, and after the initial connection attempt, nothing. Dead silence. I was on a 2Mbit WAN connection at the time, so latencies were 'bad', but still better than DSL on BT in rural areas, from my experience - 113msecs to Google. One of the devs should try building clean from CVS to see is there an issue, or is my apparently clean R5 somehow dirty... I think the compile is broken on Dano again, btw.... I'll take a look at that later on today. Cian/MYOB |

Very weird! I'll try building it later...haven't got time now....I must say I mainly use the BONE project file...I believe Simon is the only one using the net_server file....but he's currently busy working on Firefox....maybe he can try building the net_server version, as it doesn't work on BONE installations(doesn't login to msn server) regards, Tim >From: Cian Duffy <my...@gm...> >Reply-To: bme...@li... >To: bme...@li... >Subject: [bme-develop] Is there something horribly broken in CVS? >Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:03:20 +0100 > >I compiled off a clean from CVS version a few days ago, on a clean R5, >with the net_server build of cryptlib, and after the initial >connection attempt, nothing. Maybe there are some new changes that cause problems. My personal project file is a bit out of sync anyway, with the work-in-progress on the emoticons. Later today I'll try to get a clean CVS and see what happens. OK, just tried a fresh CVS build and it works fine. It might be your cryptlib build - I tried building a new snapshot and think it was a bit broken somewhere. I'll email you the one I'm using. Simon ps: completely off topic, but aren't the "away" and "idle" icons the wrong way around? The lighter green suggests they are online but idle, whereas the empty outline suggests they're not actually there at all. I guess I can change it just by editing the iconprefs? > Maybe there are some new changes that cause problems. Hi, >ps: completely off topic, but aren't the "away" and "idle" icons the >wrong way around? The lighter green suggests they are online but idle, >whereas the empty outline suggests they're not actually there at all. I >guess I can change it just by editing the iconprefs? > I think it's correct how they are now...The idle state is invoked when a user doesn't use the keyboard or mouse for, for example, 10 minutes...that means the person isn't behind the computer, hence the empty icon...whereas the away icon is set by the user himself, so doesn't have to mean the user is really not behind his computer...anyway, that's my interpretation....if you want you can change it in the iconprefs yeah... we also should decide how we will be integrating the signed out and blocked icons into the icon prefs file, since they are not really statusses...(and therefore are missing some information that the normal statusses do have) regards, Tim _________________________________________________________________ MSN Search, for accurate results! http://search.msn.nl |

Hmm, I disagree - Idle often comes on when someone is still in the room, but maybe not using the computer. If I'm actually going away, I actually set the status to "away". I think the away icon should show more "away" than the idle one, as that one the user has actually said they are away - idle is more the computer guessing they're probably away, so it should be the faded green icon IMHO. Any other opinions welcome. > we also should decide how we will be integrating the signed out and > blocked > icons into the icon prefs file, since they are not really > statusses...(and > therefore are missing some information that the normal statusses do > have) > > regards, > > Tim > > _________________________________________________________________ > MSN Search, for accurate results! http://search.msn.nl > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide > Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real > users. > Discover which products truly live up to the hype. Very very weird! I had a similar problem the other day myself. I checkout (not update, checked out to a clean folder) the first emoticon grid version and I was unable to build the project. It marked errors on every source file that used the map.h header. Really weird, I finally replaced the BeIDE project file with my previous copy and from there was able to build the new code. I don't understand why a file will build and the other wont. Any ideas? I suggest that if the BeIDE project file is not changed (added/removed files, libraries, etc) don't commit it. What do you think?
