Hi Eric I'm sorry for the trouble you're having with BKM. Unfortunately I can't give you much assistance as BKM hasn't been maintained for many years now. I still work on a smiliar project though with Memonic: http://www.memonic.com. It might be useful for you. Sorry that the website doesn't reflect this information. I'll make a note to update it and warn about the lack of support. Thanks Patrice |

Hi Everybody, I installed BKM, and then uninstalled it using the Windows XP uninstall software control panel. A warning came up saying something about a common file, but said no other program was using it (wrong), so I let it delete it. Now my KMLite (K-Melon variant) has no bookmarks under the netscape list, and none up on the bookmark bar... It just has no bookmarks. I have a tool for recovering erased data, but I don't know what to look for, because I don't know what BKM uninstalls that would be a common file... Please advise. Thank you. |

I have no idea why this happens. It may be because BKM loads some ActiveX component which triggers the Dell Picture Studio - similar to what sometimes may trigger the MS Office Installer at will. But I really have no exact idea. Patrice PS: Please note, that I don't develop on BKM anymore because of my switch to Linux. -- the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. The settings should be in the registry somewhere near HKEY_LOCAL_USER\Software\Microsoft\VB and Applications\BKM4 I don't have the exact path in my head. I have been running Bookmark Manager 4.0.0 on one WinXP machine for a couple weeks without incident. I just installed on a second WinXP machine and have a peculiar situation. When I start the program (whether from the start menu or double-clicking original in Program Files), this causes Windows Installer for Dell Picture Studio to run! I press cancel and it runs again. I cancel again; it runs again. This happens 2 to 4 times. THEN Bookmark Manager starts properly and runs fine. Any idea how to fix this peculiar behavior?? |

I just downloaded the vbBKM. How do I configure it for Firefox? I entered it as Mozilla, and pointed it to the Firefox in Program Files, but I don't think It seems to be able to find my bookmarks file in Documents and Settings (Using Firefox 1.0.1 under Windows 2000 Pro). What should I do next? Thanks all, Paul Walker |

Michael, The menu item to export to XBEL was enabled by mistake in the release of -pre6. It doesn't actually do anything, as you discovered - it's not dumping it anywhere, and nothing's "wrong" so to speak...but there's no actual export code. If you have VB and CVS, we have working export code in the CVS version, which will be -pre7 when it's released. If not, -pre7 will have working XBEL export filters. Sorry about that, Daniel Remenak --- bkm...@li... wrote: > Message: 1 > From: <mic...@ad...> > To: <bkm...@li...> > Date: Thu, 8 Jul 2004 13:30:50 -0400 > Subject: [Bkm-users] Exporting to XML > > Everytime I try to do this, nothing happens so I can not tell if it is > dumping it somewhere or just not telling me what is wrong. Everytime I try to do this, nothing happens so I can not tell if it is dumping it somewhere or just not telling me what is wrong. I am using the latest VB version of bkm from SF.net. Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Michael Cox |
