Category: Interface Improvements Group: BibDesk 1.0 + Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Champo (champo) Assigned to: Michael McCracken (mmcc) Summary: drag pdf to main window to add local-url Initial Comment: I find myself trying to add a local-url entry to a BibDesk entry (one with no associated PDF) by dragging-and-dropping a PDF from Finder onto the proper entry in the main window. Instead of adding a local-url, however, this creates a new BibDesk reference with only the Local-URL set. I would like to see this behavior either changed entirely or at least a preference setting to control which behavior occurs for drag-and-drop PDFs. Perhaps the behavior could be location-sensitive, so that dropping a PDF to the PDF icon column had the one behavior (add Local-URL to existing entry) while dropping it elsewhere had the other (create new entry). Dragging and ddropping to the main window is just a bit faster and more convenient than opening the entry of interest and dropping the PDF there, especially when I have several Local-URLs to add. Cheers! This application *rocks*. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497426&aid=1426720&group_id=61487 |
