I'm new to the whole TeX world, and I'm using a Mac. I stumbled onto bibdesk while searching for a way to manage a sharable bibliography of books and articles about music history and literature. Bibdesk seems to handle the maintenance part, but I need to get the results into a word processor and into a html form for display on a web site. Bibdesk does export to html, but there are limitations. Chief among those is the need to distinguish between data elements for a book and for an article. Secondary is what kind of chain of TeX-related stuff do I need to find and use to get to a printable document. This doesn't go off for publication somewhere else. I may be totally on the wrong track with the wrong set of tools. If so, a tip in that direction would save a lot of time and frustration and send me off to some commercial GUI product. That's easier for me but pricey and frustrates some of the ability to share the underlying bibliography. Guidance, anyone? Lewy |
