Makes an interesting read this... But wont people just do one of the
following:
a) Create a piece of electronics to flash the chip... It has to be
programmed somehow
b) Not upgrade...
c) Buy from alternative manufacturers. Some Malaysian chip manufacturer
will stick their finger in the pie and create a non-TCPA chip and chipset
with equivalent or better performance.
d) Buy a Sun or Apple computer?
I think MS and Intel and AMD, who are part of this consortium are about to
shoot themselves in the head, let alone the foot as they will drive
customers away! I say... Bring in the Cyrix! :D
