To whom it may interest: Preferably an dev with some exp creating plug-ins for audacity. My idea for a plug-in is very simple, however I have 0 coding abilities of any sort. So I am not aware of how easy or difficult this would be to create. I believe it would fall under the audio analyzing section of plug-ins, could be wrong. I will try to explain in simplest terms, let me know if more details are needed. My goal in sending this is to obtain advice, and to find out what people think, maybe its a waste of time, maybe this already exists, or there is a better way. If not, do you think it would be useful for others? I would use it. ----------- So I want a plug-in that can analyze a set of audio tracks and detect where or when there is sound in more than one track at any given time. ------------ Example to its application: So I have a recording of a large group of people. A podcast per se. Each person is recorded on their own track. The recording is about 120 minutes long. Most of the time, of course, only one person is talking. Inevitably, there are times when more than one person speaks at a given time. Since they are synced and in separate tracks, I separate the voices in time so that they are audible. Some I silence... because naturally they stop if they are interrupting... sometimes people tend to stutter when someone is speaking over them... etc. When I clean up th audio for this podcast, it is very time-consuming. Listening to all of it of course. I would love a plugin that can make a label at every instance when certain conditions are met. Like sound in more then one track at a time, for longer than .25 seconds... or just... at all... And i can go in and listen to those individually. The label can be for just he beginning of it... and make a separate label for every 30 seconds after the first label was made.. if another instance occurs. Hope this was enough detail, excuse me if I wrote a book. Thanks for reading! Goodbye! I look forward to any feedback ---The best to all DAVID FRANCO |
