Thanks, Djalel. Audacity Beta is already using the latest stable
wxWidgets.

In the About dialogue, assuming http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ 
(not in a translatable string) stays where it is, can you get the words 
in correct order after that if you reduce the URLs and the e-mail address 
to a reference, e.g. 

"Audacity is a free program written by a team of volunteer 
developers [1] around the world" and so on. Then add an 
additional paragraph after "Forum" at the end of the second
paragaraph with the references.

I've no objection if that works, it would look more professional
I think.
