What about multichannel AIFF?  I think it's slightly more standardized than WAV. 
  Anything wrong with that?  Also, Ogg Vorbis supports more than 2 channels, 
although I have no idea how many other tools can work with it.

Anyone know anything more about OpenTL, AAF or OMF?  I'd love to learn more 
about these formats to see if we want to try to support any of them.
