So I'm off OS X and running Gentoo with my new 12 channel M-Audio card! Unfortunately, Audacity won't compile. While Gentoo's pretty up to date, it's a little behind wxGTK and way behind audacity, so I compiled them both myself. Audacity says this when it trys to compile: effects/AvcCompressor.cpp: In member function `virtual wxString EffectAvcCompressor::GetEffectDescription()': effects/AvcCompressor.cpp:88: cannot pass objects of non-POD type `class wxString' through `...' make[1]: *** [obj/effects/AvcCompressor.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/lee/src/audacity/src' make: *** [audacity] Error 2 non-POD type? I don't know where to start. The funny thing is I compiled a clean CVS checkout only 6 hours ago on my work computer running Mandrake 9.1 and it was recording in no time. -l[e^2] ------------------------------ http://www.fallingforward.net/ people experimenting with music, art and technology |
