I am about to submit a paper to JAES and I refer to Audacity in this paper. I would like to include a suitable citation. What do you recommend? Is something out there already in bibtex format? Thanks. Warren |

Hi Warren, There a Computer Music Journal article -- details are here: http://www.mitpressjournals.org/doi/abs/10.1162/014892602760137185?journalCode=comj#.U5CbUhXgX40 I don't know of anything more recent. -Roger On 6/5/14 12:09 PM, Warren Koontz wrote: > I am about to submit a paper to JAES and I refer to Audacity in this > paper. Please make a citation to Audacity including the version number of Audacity that you used, giving our Trademark (R). Please quote the full three-section version number, as found at Help > About Audacity (or Audacity > About Audacity on a Mac computer). Examples could look like: * "For this work I used version 2.0.5 of Audacity(R) recording and editing software[1]." * "Audacity Team (2014). Audacity(R): Free Audio Editor and Recorder [Computer program]. Version 2.0.0 retrieved April 20th 2014 from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ [1]." . [1] must link to the following exact citation: "Audacity(R) software is copyright (c) 1999-2014 Audacity Team. [Web site: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. It is free software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.] The name Audacity(R) is a registered trademark of Dominic Mazzoni." The section inside [ ] is optional. The remaining text must be presented exactly as above, without any additional text interspersed into it. The citation could be in a footnote, or linked to on a Credits page or similar. Alternatively you could append the citation verbatim underneath the arbitrary text for version number. If your text for Audacity version and citation does not appear at the start of your paper, please refer to the word "Audacity" as "Audacity(R)" on its first appearance in your paper. Making that citation permits you to include screenshots of Audacity in your book, including screenshots you took yourself. Gale - Thanks. I will do this in the final version (if the paper is accepted!). - Warren On Thu, Jun 5, 2014 at 8:37 PM, Gale (Audacity Team) <ga...@au...> wrote: > "Warren Koontz" wrote: > > I am about to submit a paper to JAES and I refer to Audacity in this > > paper.
