Hi I borrowed a brand new MacBook Pro for the weekend, and am trying to compile Audacity. I followed http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Developing_On_Mac and http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=52237 So far so good but have 2 errors, both: /Users/martyn/Audacity/mac/../src/effects/audiounits/AudioUnitEffect.h:18:0 /Users/martyn/Audacity/mac/../src/effects/audiounits/AudioUnitEffect.h:18:37: error: AudioUnit/AUNTComponent.h: No such file or directory and from a quick search, this a deprecate file that is no longer in 10.6. When you install Xcode, you need to install the 10.4u sdk as well. I believe there's an installation option. Sorry, not at home just now. Thanks. It turns out that I had the 10.4 SDK but had to select it in the Project -> Edit Project Settings dialog, then it compiled perfectly. Now I'm getting the rather odd "Error from Debugger: The program being debugged is not being run." message when I click the 'Build and Run' button in Xcode, but the app will run by clicking on Audacity.app from Finder. Any ideas on that one? I've tried the deployment build as well and that appears to work too, however there are a few tiny bits that I need to tidy up in my build script to make it perfect. I'm feeling brave so may see how things work with Xcode 4. Paul. |

So while I've got access to this MacBook, how do I create a 'DMG'? Not that I know what one is. I can compile and run the Debug Static version, what more do I need to do? That should make this a complete solution for building releases. The DMG and ZIP files are placed in the parent directory of DSTROOT, so if DSTROOT is allowed to default to /tmp/Audacity.dst, then the DMG and ZIP file will be in /tmp. > I'm feeling brave so may see how things work with Xcode 4. > Did you do it?
