The setting you are refering to is the filter api setting. Increase the Process Timeout setting. Form the documentation: Set-Process-Timeout The number of seconds the AR System server waits before ending a set = fields process that has not completed. Valid values for this option are 1 = through 60. The default value is 5 seconds. - Jarl -----Original Message----- From: ars...@ar... [mailto:ars...@ar...]On Behalf Of Tra...@ca... Ignore all of this - problem sorted out. I checked the test routines
from the install and note that they include the firstRetrieve value
when used within the test. I included that in my code (despite the=20
examples indicating it is not needed as defaults to 0 and also not
part of the sample code) and it all works fine now.
Hopefully this may also help the original post.

It looks like "ars_GetListEntry.pl" is a bit outdated.
The ars_GetListEntry function now needs a parameter "firstRetrieve" after
"maxRetrieve", so the function call in line 54 should look like this:
ars_GetListEntry($ctrl, $schema, $qual, 0, 0 )
instead of
ars_GetListEntry($ctrl, $schema, $qual, 0 )

Hello,
Has there been any update on this problem. I am running a script under
Solaris 9 with ARSperl 1.84 and getting the same error. I have tried moving
the 1.85 but the problem persists. This is working against a v6.3 ARS setup
with Perl 5.8.5.
The script extract for info is....
( $ctrlRecord = ars_Login($server, $user, $password)) ||
ARS_failed($ars_errstr);
( %entryIdList = ars_GetFieldTable($ctrlRecord, $messageForm)) ||
ARS_failed("Unable to open form $messageForm\n
$ars_errstr");
( $qualString = ars_LoadQualifier($ctrlRecord, $messageForm,
"'Message Name' = \"$msgName\"")) ||
ARS_failed("Unable to build qualification\n
$ars_errstr");
( @entryList = ars_GetListEntry($ctrlRecord, $messageForm, $qualString, 1))
||
ARS_failed("Unable to retrieve $msgName\n
$ars_errstr");
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Colin,
What error are you seeing and do you have your environment set
up to fetch the full ARS error messages?
Cheers,
Richard.

( $qualString =3D ars_LoadQualifier($ctrlRecord, $messageForm,
"'Message Name' =3D \"$msgName\"")) ||

Syed,
I've never been able to add attachments at create-time,
either so I do the create with the other N-1 fields and then do a
"MergeEntry" to add the attachment(s).

This is a nice application if you have a fairly slim application. We encountered an error when we ran it against an "ITSM Application" server. The error indicated that a run time function was called to close in an unusual way and bombed out and didn't complete. This may be a memory usage limitation. I like what I see as far as the documentation interface is concern it has great potential. =20 -D =20 David K Hill Sr Systems Engineer ITSG BAS VAIT GAM ISTG Tools IT Service Manager Intel Corporation ________________________________ From: ars...@ar... I'd try to run ARSdoc nonetheless. It might work even if some tests fail.
Moreover, in this case, the failed test is t/02export.t, which tests
functionality (def-file export) that is not needed by ARSdoc (as far as I
know).
