"Perl 5.x with the dynamic loading option compiled in."

anyway you need these packets installed:

ARSperl-1.90
Data-DumpXML-1.06
Array-RefElem-1.00
linux_api512.tar ( this isn't the lastest version)

Hi: I am getting the following error when I try to run a perl script that
uses ARS Perl

I copied the api dir to /usr/arsapi/ before compiling/installing ARS Perl. I
do see the file libicudatabmc.so.32
bash-2.05$ find /usr/arsapi/ -name libicudatabmc.so.32
/usr/arsapi/lib/libicudatabmc.so.32

When I installed ARS API I set 
$ARSAPI     = "/usr/arsapi";

Any ideas?

Paizo,

Dates are funny things when used in qualifications within ARSperl.  The 
string format of the date has to be just right for the server to 
recognise as a proper date.  I find it easier to use some of the Perl 
date functions to turn a date string into an integer value (Date::Calc 
is our favourite tool, but you can use Time::Local, which is (usually) 
built-in).  If using integer date values then you obviously don't need 
to wrap them in quotes.

Two thoughts...

first:
 "and" is not the same as "AND"

Second:
  \"01-05-2007\" , \"30-05-2007\" look like "DD-MM-CCYY" format to me.
You might have to set ARDATE env to get that to parse correctly at the
API layer. ( maybe ) [ Ref: ConfigGuide-630.pdf pg 313 ]

I found some troubles trying to use this qualification:

$str_qual = "'Stato Reclamo' = \"Trasferita\" AND 'Gruppo Competente' =
\"the-group\" and 'Data Trasferimento' > \"01-05-2007\" and 'Data
Trasferimento'  <  \"30-05-2007\"";

Data trasferimento is a date field.
Using this qualification with the remedy client works ( advaced search );

with ARSperl i got that error:

ars_LoadQualifier: [ERROR] Cannot open catalog; Message number = 1590

I don't understand why it works on the remedy client ad won't using ARSperl.
Any hints?

I had the same problem just the other day.  Compiling against the <a href="
http://arswiki.org/wiki/Remedy_API_Downloads#Solaris_-_6.3_GA_-_English_.285.2C833.2C909_bytes.29
">6.3 version</a> of the API worked for me, but I then didn't really need 7.

The "make clean" problem is probably caused by line 305 of Makefile.PL:

'OBJECT'  => q[ARS$(OBJ_EXT) support$(OBJ_EXT) supportrev$(OBJ_EXT) 
].($ARSVERSION >= 5.0 ? q[supportrev_generated$(OBJ_EXT) ] : 
'').($WINDOWS ? '' : $ARS_STATIC_LIB),

The last parenthesized expression seems to be the culprit here 
($ARS_STATIC_LIB = .../libar.a). It looks like it was added when ARSperl 
was updated to enable compilation against 6.3.
The check for ($WINDOWS? ...) was added later by myself, because on 
Windows the reference to libar.a resulted in a linker error.
Of course, on Windows it would work without the last expression:

'OBJECT'  => q[ARS$(OBJ_EXT) support$(OBJ_EXT) supportrev$(OBJ_EXT) 
].($ARSVERSION >= 5.0 ? q[supportrev_generated$(OBJ_EXT) ] : ''),

I will test this on Linux, but unfortunately I have no possibility to 
test it on other Unix flavours.
Could you try to compile ARSperl on Solaris with the modified Makefile.PL?

yeah, I've got some custom paths in there, but I'm fairly certain that's not 
the issue.
I noted Thilo's earlier post with the suggestion of editing the 
supportrev_generated.h & .c files. I tried this but it did not seem to make 
a difference.

ALSO ... and this is a BIG issue ... 'make realclean' and 'make clean' will 
REMOVE the libar.a file from your api directory (OUTSIDE THE BUILD 
DIRECTORY). It's fortunate I made a backup of my api directory prior ;-)

In any case ... is there anything maybe in a nightly build or CVS out there 
that would address this issue? I'm afraid it goes a bit deeper than my 
knowledge can take me. I've got quite a bit of infrastructure built on 
ARSPerl ... I really need this to compile against the ARS7 api in this 
environment.

Any suggestions?

I messed up the SetEntry call :-)

One of the parameters is "entry-id" which is the ticket# you want to
operate on.

The ars_SetEntry call should rather look like this:

ars_SetEntry($c, "Form Name", $entryId, 0, $t{'Status'}, "Closed", ...

The "0" after $entryId is the "getTime" parameter. If it has a nonzero 
value, it can be used to prevent the change if the entry has been 
changed by another user after the "getTime" (seconds after Jan 1 1970).

call getfieldtable by passing a form name and change the status and the
diary by ars_setentry but of which ticket?!

You can also download it from arswiki.org, which is easier because they 
have a tar while containing only the API package:
