Hello, I am an architect with almost no programming experience. But I like the idea of making a "CAD program developed side by side with architecture offices" so i'd like to help. If you can tell me what can I do, which mailing list is better to subscribe, I don't now... I have downloaded the 0.17.1 version an i'll try to make it run. I have a compaq armada with Vector linux (slakware based). Cristian Balan |

Hello Cristian, This mailing list is a good start for sure. You could also join the users list where we have, from times to times, a few discussions about how features should be implemented. Finally, the translator list could be nice if you can translate archimedes in any language not yet supported. The most important information, however, is that we are actually remodeling Archimedes to make it more flexible. It is, at the present moment, close to something we can release again. I would suggest you take a good look at this version you downloaded, maybe write down all bugs you might find. If you experience crashes, check your temporary folder (it may be specified in the workspace properties dialog) for file like Archimedes-error-*.log For now don't translate anything however because I have changed the whole translation system because of our remodeling. For the present moment, that is mainly what you can do to help. I have said this a couple of times already but I do intend to make it true as soon as possible: I'll should be releasing an unstable version of the new architecture in about a week or so. Hello, 1.I subscribed to translator and user list. 2.Is there (i can't find it) a page about the planned development of archimedes, the main proposed feature, the file sistem, GUI etc.? 3.I installed Archimedes and crashed two times allready :) when trying to trim something and then when trying to fillet. Should I send the error log somewhere? Thank you, Cristian On Sunday 11 February 2007 13:57, Hugo "NighT" Corbucci wrote: > Hello Cristian, > This mailing list is a good start for sure. Hi again, 2007/2/11, Cristian Balan <cri...@fb...>: > > Hello, > 1.I subscribed to translator and user list. Great! :) 2.Is there (i can't find it) a page about the planned development of > archimedes, > the main proposed feature, the file sistem, GUI etc.? Well... to be honest: No. There is no info about our plans for the future but that's mainly because we don't know what the future will be like. :) At the present moment we are rebuilding the features that already existed and reorganizing them so that things get more modular. Those are our plans for the next month or so. >From march to july we should have a more stable and regular group programming which should enable us to have some kind of page concentrating all those infos. Anyway, you are very welcome to ask anything you like here or in the users list or even in the sourceforge foruns if you prefer. We will be glad to answer (if we know the answer). 3.I installed Archimedes and crashed two times allready :) when trying to > trim something and then when trying to fillet. Should I send the error log > somewhere? Hmmm. You can send it over here or directly to my email but don't expect a quick fix since all our patches will be saved to the new architecture (our focus for the moment).
