Hi,

Existing Calculus menu needs to be upgraded.

1) Distance- already implemented but I can not copy the distance(sorry! :-) I cannot remember a 10 digit no.) if required as there is no command prompt history is maintained in Archimedes.
2) Area- This should be upgraded as only option is to select all the points needed, instead one should be able to select a closed polyline or a polygon
Also should have facility to add & subtract areas of two different polylines.
3) Point Co ordinates - not available as command but seen in status bar at bottom of window, apparantly there is no way to copy the co ordinates.

Also there is no option for units control.

Linear - Decimal
- Architectural
Display Precision - no. of digits after decimal points

Angular- Decimal
- Degree/Minutes/Seconds
- Serveyor's units

Angle Direction - Clock wise
- Counter Clock wise
Display Precision - no. of digits after decimal points

Regards,

Sanjit

    Hi,

Sorry found the command prompt history after minimising the drawing but will be of if available with keyboard shortcut.

    Regards

    1) hmmmm what a shame. Can't copy the result of distance command?
We should definitively fix that as soon as possible.
    2) The area feature you ask is already on our plans. Problem is that it is almost as hard to implement as hatch. I suppose I can have some algorithm ready in some time but only if my teacher of computational geometry helps.
Could you explain a bit better how to add or substract areas of 2 diff. polylines?
    3) That one is gonna be a bit harder. Maybe I change this but I'm not sure how good it would become.

Could you give us an example of how this options could be inserted? Should we have a dialog or just add this to the window preferences (once they come back)? What would those options interfere in? Just the display sistem? What would change with the angle direction? If one types a positive angle it is clock wise or not according to this option?
    What is Serveyor's unit?

    Hugo

There are 4 features requests here:
    1) Allow to copy results (should be working)
    2) Allow to use elements on drawing to determine an area.
    3) Allow to copy the values of the position of the mouse
    4) Add a preference page to set a few informations.
