Steve and list, DirectX isn't much different than OpenGL - the names are a bit different, but the two libraries work pretty much the same - they're basically a big bunch of function pointers. DirectX usually has a few features ahead of OpenGL (because they don't have to deal with the Architecture Review Board, or ARB, which is a collection of companies that fight over standards), but typically the difference is only a few months and in a portable app, OpenGL is the only way to go, unless we use both. The main issue now is finding a good engine that uses OpenGL, or both OpenGL and DirectX and can be integrated with plib (unless we dump plib). I've been doing porting work on Demeter, since the original porter seems to have jumped ship, but that work is just about done and I'll probably take another shot at integration when I get it working (port is to mac, by the way - Linux and Windows versions work fine).
