We had a request to use OPL licensed models and artwork for Arianne. After reading up the implications of OPL vs GPL and finding out its about the exact same license, I have nothing against people adding graphics that are under the OPL license. Its basicly the exact same deal... - once OPL, always OPL - people can copy or modify at will and but to state what they did and what the original was - all work that is derived is OPL as well, and needs to be open for everyone Here is how it works: - Modifications are in CVS, this means that we will satisfy the need to state who changed what using the CVS history. - If someone adds OPL to Arianne it will go to module arianne_content and one OPL license file will be added. - OPL graphics will be added to a textfile stating which files are OPL. Thats basicly it. If the graphic artist doesnt say anything it will go under GPL as usual, if he really wants it can go under OPL. It actually doesnt make sense to license content under the GPL, really, cause portions of the license dont apply to graphics, but its still legally working. And, its easier cause with the GPL we dont have to specify that its GPL, cause anything not specifically excluded in Arianne will be GPL. For that reason, I request all graphic artists to create graphics under the GPL not the OPL, but if the graphics are already licensed under the OPL we will accept them as OPL and add them accordingly.
