Initial Comment:
Since the door png images need to be redone anyway to match the new tileset, they should be changed to allow arbitrary sizes. To do this should just require making all images square, with the visual part of the doorway always centered. This will eliminate the need for special code to calculate it's sprite position relative to the entity's coordinates based on the orientation.

For the current images, which are 2x3 (or 3x2), the new images would be 3x3 and the extra padding space would just be transparent.

Let me know when the new images are ready to be commited, and I'll change to java part to match.
