Yeah well, fine..... as Euan seems to be gone for whatever reason...
Didnt hear anything about holiday or gone for a few.. maybe he lost his ISP?
Or he lost his interest lol.. I dont know.
Anyway..  I will take the lead of the programming section now.
If whoever wants to join me to take the lead for everything else, like docs,
newbies,
design stuff, FEEL FREE AND EMAIL!
Regarding the rest...  nobody answered on the codebase investigation, so I
conclude its over.
If not get over it and read the code we are working on. ;)
Its useless to freeze the code to read it anyway.

CODE FREEZE IS OVER STARTING NOW!

The holy rules:

1. Thou shalt code! If thou cannot code, thou shalt talk!

2. The current design is good.
3. We all believe the current design is good.
4. If we dont we fix it after reading the code through.
5. We document our SOURCE CODE thoroughly. (Yes, me too -slap self-)
6. We dont write useless docs on stuff thats gonna change anyway.
7. We code. We check code. We recheck code. Do unit tests if we know how. (I
dont ;) )
8. We are all responsible for the whole sourcecode. We break something, we
fix it.
9. We find bugs anywhere, we fix them. If no time, we announce them. (use
sourceforge bug tracker)
10. We program simplistic. If I read the code and dont understand what its
doing I will delete it or redo it. So should you!
11. Put your {} where you want them. But PLEASE indent your code correctly.
(NOT like Miguel :P)
12. Talk, communicate. You dont understand Arianne code, ASK ME! I answer.
On the ML, so everyone can read it. (dev)


I will start add features. I want to hear what people like to be added
first.
We will put that XP stuff to good use. I want to hear which features are
wanted in which order.
What is important to you and what is not.

Here is a list of whats still broken and whats coming in the future:

Broken:

- XML database (status unknown, not tested)
- Actions: eat, sleep, cancel, attack, get, drop

Future features Id like to add:

- trading
- look inside a container action / network packet
- buy / sell
- AIManager
- QuestManager

To explain that:

trading                - is simply a way to exchange stuff from player to
player like in ultima online the tradebox
look inside container  - currently due to new structure its impossible to
see the contents of a container. needs fixing of course.
buy/sell               - close to tradebox, just works with NPCs. MAYBE I
merge trading + buy/sell to one
AIManager              - This rather large manager will do the AI actions
for all NPCs. Must be fairly hardcore coded to be real fast
QuestManager           - I will ask Miguel how this was supposed to work
cause he is still sitting on the idea ;)
                         Anyway, it will provide a system where actions can
be triggered so you can actually script the roleplaying events.
                         It will also "spawn" monsters in some way or the
other.


Also I would like to know WHO IS WILLING TO CODE WITH ME!
I mean actual coding, not designing, not talking crap and then not doing
anything. Coding as in code appears. ;)
As in: I will code if I have time, but if I _have_ time I will do _some_
coding at least. Results are there at least weekly,
even if its just a small bug or typo correction.
As in: I will post emails if I do / did something. (in dev ML starting now
hehe)

If nobody wants to code I will code alone. If I code alone, I do what I
want. So dont complain. If you want Arianne to be something you want, come
and help. If we code together, Arianne will take a different shape for sure.

The rest of us that is not coding can talk on the ML. I want people to talk
about design ideas. We programmers will listen what people want. If nobody
talks about it Arianne will probably not be in the end what you guys really
want. So talk a lot. ;) Even if its crap... ;)

Thats all for now... the biggest point is that everyone should be having a
lot of fun by actually doing what he likes to do best. If you are not having
fun, do something else.
