Hi, the transition between "rooms" (called usually worlds) is done through portals. The portal can be a door, a gate, a large collection of trees or whatever. This would help to split up the hole World into a lot of smaller worlds (a room, an outdoor area, the hell ;) which can be handled smoothly. It seems to me that players tend not to like them, so it should be easy enough to make a living as an adventurer. Friendly fire? When playing with friends, if your buddies are attacking a troll and you shoot an arrow and MISS, there should be a chance it hits one of your allies. Tried and tested in Dungeons and Dragons. Once the 3D world comes into play, how will the world be divided up? We can't have the entire world as one "room," this would occupy a player's RAM until there's nothing left, so areas should be divided up. Also, transition betweeen "rooms" should be totally seamless, if possible. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: Jabber - The world's fastest growing real-time communications platform!
