Category: World Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Snaketails (snaketails) Assigned to: Jo S. (intensifly) Summary: Deathmatch monster spawning Initial Comment: If you stand top left of the Arena, it is possable that monsters spawn to the top left of you "outside" the game field area. but not just that, multiple monsters can spawn on the exact same spot, I just killed 4 Green Dragons that had spawned to the immediate top left of me standing in the corner, off the game arena, then from there, you can move away from those "trapped" monsters and kill the rest and return to those trapped to kill. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Jo S. (intensifly) Date: 2006-06-21 10:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1501503 I looked at the patch and I think by integrating it we would prevent the dragons from spawning there. However, it would mean that a player could get through deathmatch with a lot less than the number of creatures he was supposed to kill. So, your patch would only help, if place_at would be fixed by really trying to put the monster in one of the free spaces in the room, even if they are a little away; and only if the room is 100% full it should return with a failure. In such cases the changes you propose would be correct. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hendrik (nhnb) Date: 2006-06-21 09:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=990499 The attached patch should solve the "placed at the other side of the wall" problem. But i am not sure if there are any other adverse effects. Please have a close look at it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101111&aid=1509742&group_id=1111 |
